What is a spray tower?

The spray tower, also known as a water scrubber, washing tower, or purification tower, is classified into acidic and alkaline types based on its properties. Additionally, it can be categorized by shape into vertical and horizontal designs, and by material into PP scrubbers and fiberglass scrubbers, among others. The spray tower is also the most commonly used odor-control equipment, making it suitable for all large- and medium-sized enclosed or semi-enclosed spaces. After odorous gases are collected under negative pressure, they are introduced into the spray tower, where a series of chemical reactions effectively remove the odor molecules from the air. This system boasts exceptionally high deodorization efficiency, requires minimal space, and features remarkably low operating costs, with the added benefit of automated control. The product boasts an aesthetically pleasing design and offers single-stage, two-stage, and three-stage washing options tailored to different application scenarios. The structural components of the spray tower include the tower body, circulating water pump, and water storage tank. During installation, users only need to connect the ventilation ducts and fans; once debugging is complete, the system can operate smoothly. In daily use, simply turn on the fan and water pump switches to ensure normal operation. After purchasing the spray tower, it’s crucial to implement proper maintenance practices. Regularly inspect the equipment to ensure: 1. The unit’s exterior is free from significant dirt or debris, and that the packing balls and spray layers within the tower are not clogged. Also, verify whether the circulating water pump is functioning properly. 2. Check if the water storage tank is clear of blockages and if excessive sediment has accumulated at the tower’s base. Monitor for any loose components or unusual noises during operation. Clean the tower’s surface, as well as the pumps, fans, and ducts regularly to prevent debris buildup. 3. If clogging occurs in the packing balls or spray layers, professional environmental engineers recommend first shutting off the water supply valve for the affected spray layer, then increasing the water pressure from the circulating pump to another spray layer. Next, flush the nozzles and packing balls thoroughly. Once the blockage is cleared, switch to another spray layer for further cleaning and rinsing. 4. If severe clogging prevents effective flushing using the system’s own water pressure, consider replacing the clogged spiral nozzles. If the spray tower pump exhibits symptoms such as dry running or unusual noises, immediately shut down the system for inspection and maintenance. Dry running often indicates that the water level in the tank is too low—open the inlet ball valve to replenish the circulating water. For any abnormal noises or loose components, identify the root cause promptly and address the issue to restore normal operation.
