Why should paint booths be regularly inspected and maintained?

1. If a paint booth is not regularly maintained, dust will settle inside, gradually accumulating over time. When the accumulated dust adheres to the filter cotton—especially since the cotton has an oily nature—and is exposed to heat, it can easily ignite. Therefore, it’s crucial to perform routine maintenance on the paint booth, ensuring that all equipment and tools are stored in designated areas, while air pumps, spray guns, and air hoses undergo regular inspection and upkeep. In terms of daily maintenance, to keep the paint booth operating at peak efficiency, make sure to carry out the following cleaning and inspection tasks on a regular basis: - Daily clean the interior to remove dust and paint residue buildup. - Weekly, clean the intake air filter mesh and check the exhaust filter mesh for any clogging due to dust accumulation. If you notice an unexplained increase in cabin pressure, promptly replace the exhaust filter mesh. - Replace the floor-level dust-collecting fiber cotton every 150 hours of operation. - Replace the intake air filter mesh every 300 hours of use. - Monthly, clean the water tray at the base and thoroughly flush the diesel filter installed on the burner. - Every quarter, inspect the drive belts of the intake and exhaust fans to ensure they’re neither loose nor worn. - Every six months, conduct a comprehensive cleaning of the entire paint booth and its base unit. During this process, examine the circulating air damper, as well as the bearings of the intake and exhaust fans. Also, check the flue ducts of the burner and remove any sediment from the fuel tank. Finally, renew the water-based protective coating within the booth before recoating. - Annually, thoroughly clean the entire heat exchanger, including the combustion chamber and flue passages. Additionally, replace the roof-level insulation cotton either annually or after every 1200 hours of operation. 2. Regular inspections of the car paint booth are essential. After prolonged use, electrical components and wiring in the paint booth may gradually deteriorate, leading to short circuits or open circuits that could trigger fires. Similarly, residual paint particles tend to accumulate in the exhaust fan over time, posing potential hazards. Thus, operators must conduct regular inspections and cleanups of the paint booth to promptly identify and eliminate any safety risks. 3. Strict adherence to regulations is mandatory. When entering the car paint booth for work, ensure that all necessary paints, thinner, and required tools are fully prepared. Before bringing a vehicle into the booth for painting, thoroughly wipe off dirt and dust from the underbody and wheel arches. It is strictly prohibited to remove dust inside the paint booth itself. During painting operations, always wear anti-static work attire. Smoking or using open flames inside the booth is strictly forbidden. Never leave the booth door open while painting is in progress. When performing thermal drying or baking processes, never set the temperature control above 50°C. Regularly maintain the water pump and verify the reliability of the electrical wiring. Also, inspect the intake air filter mesh frequently to prevent blockages. Ensure there are no oil leaks from the booth’s fuel tank. Finally, conduct a thorough monthly inspection and cleaning of the diesel fuel tank.
