How to reduce dust in a spray booth?

When conducting coating operations, it is essential to control the spread of dust. Excessive dust accumulation not only causes defects such as bubbles, particles, and surface roughness on the workpiece, but also poses risks to workers’ respiratory health. To solve the problem of excessive and difficult-to-control dust, we must first understand where it comes from.

Source distribution of dust

Internal: Excess waste paint generated during the painting process is not filtered in time; fans are not regularly maintained; dust accumulates on wall panels and in dead corners over time.

External: Staff members’ clothes and shoes carry dust. Frequent opening and closing of doors disrupts indoor airflow, resulting in airborne dust dispersion.

Accurate identification of dust sources is beneficial for better dust control and cleaning. For different dust sources, practical and targeted measures should be implemented:

· Regularly maintain the filtration system, clean accumulated dust and blocked areas, and replace components when necessary to ensure good dust collection and filtration performance of the equipment.
· Follow strict cleaning procedures. After daily coating operations are completed, promptly clean the floor, wall panels, and dust-prone corner areas. Systematic maintenance can effectively prevent dust accumulation.
· Optimize the fan system by designing a scientific airflow pattern and using upward airflow to transport floating dust to the bottom filtration system, achieving natural and efficient dust control and removal.
· Reduce the interference of static electricity. Static electricity attracts fine dust particles and interferes with coating operations. Indoor measures such as installing static eliminators or grounding systems can be adopted to reduce static buildup and minimize interference.
· Train coating workers to wear professional dust-proof suits and masks during coating operations to reduce external dust contamination.

A worthwhile industrial-grade clean spray painting room
A high-quality spray painting room not only significantly improves the safety of the working environment but also reduces the impact of dust on workpiece quality and worker health. Proper configuration can also prevent overinvestment in low-performance equipment, optimize production efficiency, reduce labor and management costs, and improve overall production quality and enterprise competitiveness.
