This project is located in Australia, where local regulations impose strict requirements on spray-painting operations. Automotive painting involves the use of hazardous, flammable solvents and the generation of harmful paint mist; if a spray booth lacks essential fire-safety and environmental features—such as non-combustible materials, explosion-proof electrical components, integrated safety systems, and effective paint-mist collection—the painting operations may be classified as illegal. Regulatory authorities are legally mandated to penalize such non-compliant production activities. Consequently, the client commissioned a professional, fire-safe, and eco-friendly automotive spray booth from QX Spray Booths. This solution ensures full compliance with Australian statutory requirements, allowing the client's painting operations to proceed legally, consistently, and reliably.
The following specifications detail the custom-built QX2000AB eco-friendly, electrically heated spray booth, which includes an integrated vehicle entry ramp:
·External dimensions: 8050 × 5500 × 3300 mm (L × W × H)
·Internal dimensions: 7950 × 3900 × 2650 mm (L × W × H)
·Wall panels consist of 50mm rock wool insulation sandwiched between 0.426mm-thick color-coated steel sheets; the roof panels are made of galvanized steel. The wall panels are finished in white, as are the three main access doors.
·Configuration (facing the main doors): The mechanical unit is positioned on the right, as is the personnel access door.
·Main door dimensions: 2830 × 2900 mm (W × H); personnel door dimensions: 700 × 1700 mm (W × H).
·Air handling system:
(1) Air supply: Equipped with two specialized centrifugal fans (Model: YDW4.5L1, 4 kW each).
(2) Exhaust: Equipped with one specialized centrifugal fan (Model: YDW5.0A, 7.5 kW).
·Heating system: Features 10 sets of infrared carbon-fiber heating elements, equipped with micro-switches.
·Overhead lighting: 10 units, each containing 4 LED tubes (40 tubes total; energy-efficient).
·The ceiling filter support framework is constructed from high-quality bent galvanized steel, while the support grid for the ceiling filter media is made of powder-coated galvanized steel. Floor grating consists of 5 rows (30 panels in total).
·Voltage: 380V, 50Hz, three-phase
·Control Panel: LCD touchscreen
Environmental Filtration System:
The environmental filtration unit features a three-stage filtration process.
Stage 1: Equipped with 4 flame-retardant paint-mist filter pads to capture excess paint mist, supplemented by 4 high-efficiency F7 bag filters for further removal of paint mist and particles ≥5μm.
Stage 2: Primary filtration layer, consisting of 4 modular honeycomb activated carbon units.
Stage 3: Secondary filtration layer, consisting of 4 modular honeycomb activated carbon units.
